Authorities investigate Beaufort shooting incident

BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) -

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting incident that took place at a Beaufort home Saturday evening.

Deputies responded to the residence on Glaze Drive at approximately 6 p.m. in reference to a report of a gunshot victim. Deputies made contact with a 55-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso when they arrived.

Deputies spoke with numerous individuals who were in the area at the time of the incident, however, no one reported having heard gunshots, or seeing how the victim sustained the injury. The victim was unable to provide deputies with any information due to the extent of his injuries.

The victim was transported to Beaufort Memorial and then transferred to MUSC, where he remains in stable condition.
