EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - An 8-year-old boy was walking home from his grandfather's house when he was attacked by an American Bulldog.
The Effingham County Sheriff's Office has arrested the owner of the dog and the dog is in custody. Judy Stanley is charged with obstruction, dog at large, and an expired rabies tag.
It happened near a home on Greenbay Avenue in Rincon. He suffered injuries to his arms that were non-life-threatening, according to the ECSO.
The bulldog's teeth were filed flat, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies in Effingham County say they believe the dog was once used as a bait dog. Stanley said she rescued it.
