SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Folks were singing along and raising money to fight cancer Thursday evening.

People came together at Mcdonough's Lounge for a night of Kamikaze Karaoke. The event raised money for training a team in a branch of the Leukemia and Lymphoma society.

"It's all for raising money for Leukemia and Lymphoma society to cure blood cancers. I lost a dear friend of mine a few years ago who was diagnosed and gone within a year and so i'm all about finding a cure and even if it doesn't cure the blood cancers, a lot of the cures that are found cure other cancers." said Brandi Mai, event coordinator.

People could voluntarily grab the mic and burst into song, or challenge a friend. Friends would either accept the challenge and sing, or pay up to stay off stage or change the song.

WTOC's Don Logana was a judge for the event.
