ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) -

Police in Rock Hill are investigating after a bullet went into a man's home and through his shirt while he sat on his couch, according to a report from the Rock Hill Police Department.

The incident happened Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. at a home on Flint Street. Officers were en route to a call on Lige Street, where several gunshots were heard by residents. While on their way, they got another call about a bullet hitting the home on Flint Street.

Once on scene, officers met with the 75-year-old victim who told them that he was on his couch when he felt his shirt move. He then noticed the stuffing protruding from his couch, the report states.

The officers were able to determine that a bullet came through the side of the house, went through the couch, passed through the victim's shirt, and continued into his bedroom where it struck a dresser before going into the bedroom wall.

The officers were able to retrieve the bullet from the wall.

A witness nearby told officers she heard five shots, a pause, and then another three shots. She also said she saw two cars heading south on Lige Street at a high rate of speed.

Police said the bullet was placed into evidence and that the case was forwarded to the Detective Division.

Anyone with any information about this incident should call Rock Hill Police immediately.
