Officials have confirmed that 2 of the 5 people shot in the overnight shootings have died; one at Memorial University Medical Center and one at St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital.

The chaos all started around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when a call went out to shots fired at Oglethorpe Avenue and E. Broad Street. While officers were responding to the scene, a second call went out to another shooting that happened at 39th and Cedar streets. Police say 3 people were injured by gunfire there and cars and windows were found shot out at the scene.

Then, another call went out minutes later to a third shooting at 34th Street and MLK Boulevard.

Dozens of police officers responded to each scene. All three shooting incidents occurred within 30 minutes of each other. Investigators are comparing notes from each of the shootings to see if there are any similarities.
