BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

South Carolina residents are taking part in the tax-free holiday.

Over the weekend, retailers will void the 6 percent state tax and the local tax on most back-to-school goods.

Shoppers have until 12 a.m. Aug. 4 to get in on the deal.

Tax exempt items include, but are not limited to: clothing, footware, school supplies and laptop computers.
