Springfield motorcyclist suffers massive internal injuries

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

A little after 3 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to a crash on Berkshire Avenue.

Police told CBS 3 that city resident David Garcia was riding the motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he lost control and wound up pinned under a parked car.

Rescuers had to raise the car to remove Garcia and get him transported to Baystate Medical Center.

As of Saturday afternoon, Garcia was still alive but had suffered massive internal injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
