Justice gets 4 years for committing mom

A Dougherty County woman, who had her mother falsely committed to a mental institution,  was sentenced to serve four years in prison this afternoon, with three years probation.

46 year old Connie Justice was given a seven-year total sentence for lying to court officials and having her mother committed to a mental facility in September 2011.

Justice  and her sister Carrie Franklin were both found guilty in a trial in June 2012.  Franklin was sentenced to serve two years in prison.  But Justice went on the run before she was sentenced.

She was captured in Brunswick seven months later.

Justice's mother, Jean Sancken, asked the judge for leniency for her daughter in today's sentencing hearing.
