Two arrests made in aggravated battery, robbery investigation

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

Statesboro Police have made a second arrest in an aggravated battery and robbery investigation.  

Bennie Lee Simmons Junior is now in the Bulloch County Jail. He was arrested on in Peach County Georgia earlier this week facing charges of aggravated battery and robbery. 

Simmons was transported to Bulloch County and awaits further court action. 

Statesboro police have also arrested Reginald Lamar Gordon, 22, of Statesboro, and charged him with a strong-armed robbery that happened on July 16.  

The victim, Jeremy Jamario Small, reported to police that he got in a vehicle with someone he knew and was taken to an apartment complex where 2 males were waiting and stole his shoes and cell phone, hit him in the head and face, and then took him to Wal-Mart and left him. 

The case is currently under investigation and more arrests are expected.
