The oldest cultural organization in Albany kicked off its 81st season entertaining south Georgians Friday night.
A packed house enjoyed Theatre Albany's first performance of the season, the southern classic "Steel Magnolias." There will be more performances through this weekend and next weekend.
Artistic Director Mark Costello said, "It's very special to the community. We have so many people who are long-time subscribers and supporters of the theatre, and we're excited to have them here as well as so many new people coming to the theatre for the first time."
The season runs through May and includes five more plays, two comedies, two musicals and a drama. Get more information and find out how to get tickets here: http://www.theatrealbany.com/index.html
