Police: Man grabs Rolex, runs from store

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Warrants are out on a Savannah man who's accused of grabbing a Rolex from a jewelry store and running off with it.

Savannah-Chatham Metro are looking for Rashamel Okise Gardner, 19, in connection with the Aug. 1 theft of a $38,000 Rolex from Levy's Jewelers.

Gardner faces charges of robbery by sudden snatching. Police are asking the public for help locating him. He is described as a black male who is 5' 10" tall and weighs 160 lbs.

Police said Okise and another suspect walked into Levy Jewelers about 2 p.m. Aug. 1, asked to try on a gold Rolex watch, then ran out of the door and south on Bull Street.

Anyone with information on his location or other aspects of the case is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 912.234.2020 or text CRIMES (274637). Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
