Southbound Brewery hits another setback

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Southbound Brewery hit another snag as the Savannah City Council has moved the vote to update their tours and tasting laws to their Sept. 5 meeting.

The first local production brewery was set to become the first in town to offer tours and tastings, but some City Council members wanted more time to decide when it came up for approval at the City Council meeting on Aug. 8.

Southbound Brewery said they've reached out to the West Savannah community leaders and for the most part, their reaction has been positive. They said growth in West Savannah along Bay Street and Lathrop Avenue is good.

Southbound is holding an open house at 6 p.m. Aug. 26 for area residents only and Savannah City Council members.
