BAXLEY, GA (WTOC) -

Nine more roads are shut down overnight in Appling County from flooding, bringing the total number of closed roads to 30.

Bill Morris Road was one of the dirt roads that washed away Monday night after the county received more rain. Crews said the southern part of the county received 3.5 inches of rain overnight shutting down the road along with eight others.

Residents who live in the area are not trapped and are able to take alternate routes.

The county manager has been scrambling to figure out when they will begin repairs and how they are going to pay for all of the roads to be fixed. He said beginning any kind of work will depend on the rain.

"The water has still continued to rise in some areas, and we will continue to asses those areas and then we will start repair work as soon as some of the rain starts drying out," said County Manager Lee Lewis.
