Voter registration photo ID session coming up

BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) -

The Beaufort County Board of Elections and Registration will be conducting a photo identification session on Aug. 24. 

The Lady's Island/St. Helena Branch NAACP is hosting the information session. 

Voters who wish to get a voter registration photo ID should attend. As of Jan. 1, South Carolina requires registered voters to present one of these types of photo ID when voting: 

  • S.C. Driver's License
  • S. C. DMV Identification Card
  • S. C. Voter Registration Card with a Photo
  • Federal Military ID
  • US Passport

The session will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Helena Island Branch Library. 

Photo IDs can also be obtained by visiting one of the Beaufort County Board of Elections and Registration offices, at 15 John Galt Rd. in Beaufort, or at 61-B Ulmer Rd in Bluffton.
