U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey is running for the U.S. Senate.
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
The race for the U.S. Senate
in Georgia is heating up.
On Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey
of Marietta made a stop at the WTOC studios during his Defund and Defeat Obamacare tour
across the state.
He is a former ob/gyn and says he
wants to focus on healthcare reform. He has been in Congress for 11 years and
says he is tired of bills being passed in the house and then just sitting.
"We passed bill after bill and bill
and it goes right to Sen. Harry Reid's desk and sits there and gathers dust -
and I'm just ready to go over there and run to the fight if you will -
particularly in the fight against healthcare," Gingrey said.
He is just one of seven Republicans
running for the seat being vacated by U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss.
