Man to be sentenced for murdering Toombs Co. teen

WALTON CO., FL (WTOC) -

A sentencing hearing is scheduled Thursday for the man convicted of killing a Toombs County teenager. 

Steven Cozzie was found guilty last month for murdering 15-year-old Courtney Wilkes while she was vacationing in Florida with her family in the summer of 2011. 

A Walton County, Florida judge must now decide whether to follow the jury's recommendation of the death penalty as punishment.
