Co-defendant testifies in toddler shooting trial

MARIETTA, GA (WTOC) - Day three of the Brunswick toddler murder trial has just wrapped up in Marietta, GA. 

De'Marquise Elkins is accused of fatally shooting 13-month-old Antonio Santiago in a stroller. He's is charged with nine counts, including malice murder in the March 21 slaying of Antonio.

On Thursday, the 15-year-old co-defendant of Elkins told the court that Elkins shoot the child.

Dominque Lang testified that he was walking with Elkins when they saw West with her stroller. He said Elkins demanded her purse and then pulled out a gun. When she refused, he hit her in the face and threatened the child. 

Lang said Elkins shot at the ground then shot the child. If convicted, Elkins faces up to life in prison.
