Concert to benefit mission trip to Haiti

Posted: Updated:

A concert of praise and worship music will benefit an upcoming medical mission trip to Haiti.

'Music for Haiti' will take place from 6-10 p.m. Saturday at Pittman Park United Methodist Church. It will feature Russ Lanier, performing gospel favorites as Elvis Presley, as well as praise bands from Friendship Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church's 901 band, and Cardinal, the college praise band from Eastern Heights Baptist Church.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students (with ID). Children five and under are admitted free. All the funds raised will go toward the expenses for a local team returning to Haiti. The group of 15 doctors, nurses, and others provide medical care to many who remain homeless after an earthquake levelled much of Haiti in 2010.
