PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ (CBS5) -
The wife of a fallen Hotshot Sean Misner has welcomed the couple's son into the world.
Before his death, Sean, 26, and his wife Amanda Misner picked the name Jaxon for their little boy, but after all that happened, Amanda had a change of heart.
She named her son Sean Jaxon Herbert Misner after his dad and grandfather. She said the little guy will go by the name Jaxon.
Sean died on June 30 with 18 fellow Prescott Granite Mountain Hotshots while battling the Yarnell Hill Fire near Prescott.
In 2010, Sean worked at Los Olivos grocery as a produce manager where he met his wife Amanda Wilkinson, knowing he already had plans to move to Auburn, Alabama. Sean and Amanda decided to try to make a long distance relationship work.
Sean proposed on his birthday, April 8, 2012, which he always told her was because it was a gift for both of them. On September 15, 2012, Sean and Amanda were married. After the wedding, Sean moved to Prescott Valley and worked with Mountain West Aviation as a line tech, while pursuing his dream and passion of becoming a wildland firefighter.
On Jan. 1, 2013, Sean found out he was going to be a father for the first time. On April 8, 2013, Sean's 26th birthday, he found out that he was going to be having a son.
On April 9, he started his first day with the Granite Mountain Hotshots. The night before Sean lost his life he lay next to his son and spoke to him just so that his son could hear his voice, for the fear that his son would not know him, due to being out on fires.
His family wrote a tribute to him at the time of his death - read it here.
