Students received new school supplies for the new school year thanks to the Angels of Mercy.
The group with St. Joseph's/Candler collected 64,000 school supplies for students in high-risk neighborhood schools.
On Tuesday, the delivered them to students in schools were families may not be able to afford them.
Organizers said it is important to help the community and give the students the tools for a successful school year.
"It sets the example for a lifetime. And we hope it full circles of them giving back to the community, when they are able to as adults. Someone cared for them. They'll carry on and do the same thing in the future," said Agnes Cannella, director of Mission Services at St. Joseph's/Candler.
Supplies were given to Garden City elementary, Spencer Elementary and the Boys and Girls Club in Ridgeland. This is the 15th year of the program.
