RIDGELAND, SC (WTOC) -

With the community's help, members of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Ridgeland will gather for service Wednesday, and plan to do so again on Sunday.

The church in Jasper County on Carters Mill Road was only 9-years-old. Investigators are looking for clues as to what started the fire and a barn nearby that is also operated by the church.

An event tent, donated by The All American Petting Zoo and Pony Ride, has been set up on the grounds. In order to hold services in the tent the church will need the following donations:

  • Folding chairs
  • Industrial fans
  • Bibles
  • Pulpit
  • P/A System/Instruments
  • Lights for evening services/bible studies
  • Ground cover/indoor outdoor carpet
  • Any type event tents or portable buildings
  • Any statues or religious items that will make our temporary church feel like home

Any and all monetary donations are greatly needed a appreciated. Checks and money orders can be made payable to Gospel Lighthouse and sent to the churches mailing address at PO Box 1445, Ridgeland, South Carolina, 29936.

"Even though the building is burnt to the ground, the church and the vision of the church will stand because the people are the church," Pastor Jackie, Gospel Lighthouse Church.
