The Savannah Office of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Georgia Chapter will hold its fourth annual 10K and 5K run/walk on Saturday morning.
The run is part of the 2013 St. Joseph's/Candler Leukemia Cup Series of Events. The Run for Jane Kids Run starts at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K and 10K run start at 8:30 a.m. at Fort Pulaski.
The running course goes in and out of the woods alongside the Savannah River. The Leukemia Cup Run for Jane has been voted one of Competitor Magazine's Best Charity Runs. It is is held each year Labor Day Weekend.

The run is named in honor of Dr. Jane Philbrick. On Sept. 29, 2009, she received a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She started aggressive chemotherapy but died on Oct. 15, 2009.
The Run for Jane 5K began in 2010 to honor her memory. In four years it has raised nearly $100,000 to benefit LLS and help cure blood cancers.
