SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Three Savannah men have been arrested and charged with armed robbery and kidnapping of five college students on Thursday morning.

Islands Precinct patrol officers had responded at 3:59 a.m. Thursday to the 2300 block of LaRoche Avenue where five victims had escaped from a moving van in which they had been locked.

Four victims were helping the fifth person move when three males walked up to them, forced them to the ground at gunpoint and took their personal items, according to police. They forced the resident to walk them through the home where they stole more items.

The gunmen then forced the victims into the moving truck and locked it. They escaped through the top of the truck and called police.

SCMPD said robbery detectives quickly identified the suspects.

Antwon Dashawn Housey, 21, Adam Brantley, 29, and Corey Baker, 18, were arrested by Island Precinct officers and charged with armed robbery and kidnapping.

Police said most of the stolen items have been recovered. No injuries were reported.
