CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A 13-year-old girl on Friday pleaded guilty to four charges in connection with a fatal fire in Kensington Park in mid-July.

Savannah firefighters pulled a 13-year-old girl and a 6-year-old girl from a smoky bedroom on July 14 from a home on DeRenne Drive. They were taken to the pediatric intensive care unit at Memorial University Medical Center. They died four days later.

A 13-year-old girl was first charged with involuntary manslaughter and arson in the case. But the arson charge was dropped. She had escaped the fire unharmed. She's charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of reckless conduct.

The girl remains in custody at the Savannah Regional Youth Detention Center.
