Congress members from South Carolina and Georgia are mixed on whether to support President Barack Obama's desire for military action in Syria.
U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham met with the president on Monday and is trying to convince his other lawmakers that to not act would be a huge global mistake.
U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss also supports the president. U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford said he needs to see more before he can support the president's decision.
Sanford said he believes that there are other ways to punish the Assad regime that would not be as expensive and not risk American lives. He also said the attention being given to the Syrian crisis is taking away from the real problem in the U.S. - the national debt.
On Tuesday morning, Israel and the U.S. successfully tested a missile launch from the Mediterranean Sea.
