Crime victims can go before Pardons & Paroles Board

The Chatham County District Attorney's Office and Victim-Witness Assistance Program and the Corrections and Parole Board Office of Victim Services is inviting crime victims to participate in the 2013 Victims Visitors' Day.

Crime victims and their families will have the opportunity to discuss their offender's cases and speak confidentially with a representative from the State Board of Pardons and Paroles/Department of Corrections, according to the Chatham County District Attorney's Office.

The last time such an opportunity took place in Chatham County was in 2006.

An opening ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. Appointment hours run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event will take place Sept. 19 at the Coastal Georgia Center at 305 Fahm St.

To make an appointment, call Victoria Stribling at 912.652.7329 on or before Sept. 13. If you leave a message, please leave your name, phone number, offender's name, and victim's name. 

Victims and/or their families use these services:

  • Receive current information on offender; including maximum release date, parole date, where the inmate is incarcerated
  • Register to receive updates on offender's status
  • Submit Victim Impact Statements
  • Receive Victim Service Information
  • Department of Corrections and the State Board of Pardons and Paroles websites tutorials
