CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Three people were injured when a car ran into the rear of a tractor-trailer rig late Tuesday night on Interstate 95.

It happened at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday just north of Exit 94 (GA 204) near mile marker 96.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said a Toyota Corolla going northbound and driven by Joshua Studstill, 19, of Merritt Island, FL, collided with the trailer also going northbound and drive by Gregory Pinkney Hope, 52, of Savannah. Jonika Arthur, 18, of Cocoa, FL, was a passenger in the Toyota.

Northbound traffic was diverted at the GA 204 exit 94 to Ogeechee Road for several hours.

Arthur is in critical condition. Studstill was treated and released, according to a representative at Memorial. Hope was also taken to the hospital after complaining of injuries.

SCMPD's Major Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate.
