Bomb threats at CVS, Walgreens under investigation

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police received several calls on Thursday about bomb threats being made to local stores.

Similar threats have been happening in other cities. One such threat has been confirmed in Hinesville.

It is SCMPD protocol to leave it up to each store about how they want to handle bomb threats. Julian Miller, public information administrator with SCMPD, said police will do anything necessary that the store asks, including searching the store, evacuation and bringing in bomb-sniffing dogs. They follow with the plan the store has in place.

"At this time, we don't know if the calls have been coming from Savannah. At least four CVS stores and one Walgreens has been called in at this time," Miller said.

The situation is under investigation.
