EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A man arrested and charged with criminal attempt to commit child molestation was denied bond on Friday morning.

Matt Vickery, 30, solicited a mother to engage in sexual acts with him along with her 5-year-old daughter, according to the Effingham County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were alerted from a woman who said a man had contacted her on a social media site and the conversation became sexually explicit. She told deputies that she felt that something was wrong because the man began talking about her daughter.

"During the investigation conducted by the Effingham County Sheriff's Office, [Matt] Vickery, 30, of Savannah, provided details on sexual acts he intended to perform on the child," said sheriff's spokesman David Ehsanipoor, in a statement. "Vickery drove to a playground on Columbia Avenue in Rincon this afternoon to meet who he thought was a mother and her five year old daughter with the intent engage in sexual activities."

Vickery was arrested by sheriff's investigators who were awaiting his arrival. He's charged with criminal attempt to commit child molestation, computer or electronic pornography and child exploitation prevention and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Vickery remains at the Effingham County Jail. The investigation continues and more charges are possible.
