METTER, GA (WTOC) -

More than 100 golfers played Willow Lake Golf Club Friday to help the families of fallen law officers in Georgia. Members of the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office hosted their annual Wilbur Berry Memorial Tournament, with a goal of raising $18,000.

The money goes to C.O.P.S., Concerns Over Police Survivors, a group in Georgia that helps families of officers killed in the line of duty. Berry was a sheriff's deputy shot while arresting a suspect in May 2001.

"Wilbur gave his life for the community and this is a way to remember him and remind the community that people put their lives on the line every day, law officers, fire fighters, EMT's and others," said Lt. Bobby Durden of the BCSO.
