School Officials Watching Jeanne Closely

School officials around the Coastal Empire and Low Country are watching Hurricane Jeanne very closely to see if they need to cancel classes. But as of right now, school is still open Monday in most communities, including Savannah.

"We will work with CEMA and we're involved with conference calls on a regular basis," said school superintendent John O'Sullivan. :In fact, we have one with them this afternoon. We'll work with them on Saturday and we will clearly be making a decision at the appropriate time, if the track stays consistent with what we've been hearing."

McIntosh County schools will be closed Monday because of Hurricane Jeanne.
