ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

With unemployment in Albany settling at 9.8%, a rate higher than the national average, this is pushing people in trying to find new ways to grab the attention of employers.  However, there is one thing people struggle with the most.

"Resume…they come wanting us to help them design a resume or help them critique or fix the pros and cons on what they've already had," Goodwill Career Center Manager, Crystal Askew said.

The career and training center offers advice from experts who have been specially trained in resume writing, they show people what employers are looking in candidates, especially when it comes to applications online where you can't be as personable, but she says there is a way around that.

Askew continued,"The big thing is making sure you're capitalizing letters, put spaces in, that you take that extra time to make that online application stick out."

Creating a master resume on file, listing all your skills and previous work that you can later break down will help you cater to a specific position. It's the details that can make all the difference even the paper you print your resume on can make or break you.

"I know that sounds silly but you've got to remember how many people are actually unemployed right now. Whereas, before there might have been 4 or 5 people going for a position and now you're looking at 75-100 probably. That could be the one thing that gets yours pulled from the stack," Askew shares.

She also recommends dressing the part even when you're not applying because you never know who you might come across.

Orange Crush 2018 is in full effect this weekend, but so is the alcohol ban across Tybee Island. Law enforcement has been preparing for this huge annual event for some time. Patrol cars were lined up along Highway 80 as a cautionary measure to deter drinking and driving. Tybee police say they haven't made any arrests on Saturday, and many partygoers say they are aware of the alcohol ban and are abiding by it.  "So far, most folks are well behaved," said Tybe...
