ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The last two Marine Depot Maintenance Command civilian-Marines deployed from Albany to Afghanistan are scheduled to return to southwest Georgia on Friday.

According to a release, the two are expected to arrive at 4:50 p.m., at the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport in Albany.

The purpose of the Marine Depot Maintenance Command is to provide innovative worldwide maintenance repairs and technical services for ground combat, combat support and developmental projects.

No other employees from the MDMC are scheduled to deploy or return from deployment as officials say all overseas support missions are complete.

The Command is designed to save the Marine Corps $40 million to $60 million over several years.
