Police Search for Homicide Suspect

Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police are looking for the man who stabbed a Savannah man to death. It happened around 3:00 Saturday morning near an apartment on Carolan Street.

Rosendo Avila Garcia, who's 27 years old, was stabbed at least once in the chest near his apartment at Clearview Apartments. Witnesses say Garcia was fighting with another man at a nightclub earlier in the evening. Police say both men were asked to leave; however, the fight continued at Garcia's apartment where the suspect was waiting for him and stabbed him. Garcia was pronounced dead shortly after he was rushed to Memorial Health University.

Detectives say the suspect is about 5'7" tall and weighs about 160 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen running south on Carolan Street wearing a blue shirt.
