CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Plans were unveiled on Tuesday for what promises to be a blowout party on Cleveland's Public Square on New Year's Eve!

The Ohio Homecoming Group announced plans for what will be the beginning of an annual celebration that will help bring excitement back to the city.

In addition to the traditional New Year's Eve countdown, the celebration will feature live entertainment, special guests, a firework show and food trucks. Those in attendance will also enjoy activities, vendors and more around Public Square, including a beer garden and live ice sculpting show. The event is free to the public!

"We're thrilled to pioneer this celebration with the support of the city, county and our partners to bring something fresh and exciting to downtown that will help keep people in Cleveland on new Year's," said Alonzo Mitchell, Ohio Homecoming Managing Partner.

A portion of the proceeds from Cleveland Rocks New Year's Eve will go to the Village Project, an initiative to help revitalize local neighborhoods.

19 Action News will also carry the celebration LIVE from 10 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. The night will be headlined by a huge musical act that will be revealed on October 17!
