EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A Bloomingdale teenager was killed in a rollover wreck Tuesday afternoon on Old River Road and Bay Road.

Lacey Danielle Longworth, 17, a student at South Effingham High School, was killed in the crash, according to the Effingham County Sheriff's Office. Her brother and the driver, Henry Longworth, 20, is in critical condition.

Henry Longworth was driving an SUV that struck a utility pole and overturned. ECSO spokesman David Ehsanipoor said deputies arrived after 3:30 p.m. to find the SUV overturned with three people inside. Henry Longworth was airlifted to Memorial with life-threatening injuries. Another passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Students returned to South Effingham High School on Wednesday morning. It is homecoming week there and they also held a "See you at the Pole" event Wednesday. The Longworth family were in every prayer.

"She was just precious, she was the kind of student that would not mind saying what she was thinking and everyone loved her for that," said Tina Crapse, a teacher at SEHS.

School counselors are available all day.

"One of the things we did as administrators were to be out in the hallway this morning. If we saw children crying and all they needed was a hug, we would do that and send them on their way. If they were really upset and we could tell that, we pulled them aside and took them to the care room where we had counselors," said Mark Winters, principal at SEHS.

The school is using their own counselors as well as some from the Middle school and from Effingham County High School.

"We have two counselors in each period that Lacey had a class. They are there to talk with students about their grief and lost," Winters said.

He went on to say: "We are here caring for kids, yes, academics is important and we understand that. Today we are loving kids, that is our focus."

GSP and the ECSO are investigating the cause of the wreck.
