A Savannah man was sentenced Wednesday to 18 years in prison for the 2012 carjacking and armed robbery of a man outside his home.

Rashond Wesley Baker, 20, was sentenced by Chatham County Superior Court Judge James F. Bass to 18 years; 13 to serve without parole and five years of probation, according to the Chatham County District Attorney's Office.

A jury convicted Baker on Sept. 19 of: armed robbery, aggravated assault with the intent to rob, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, hijacking a motor vehicle, four counts of possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and obstruction.

On Jan. 9, 2012, Baker carjacked a man at gunpoint in front of the victim's  home on West Bolton Street in Savannah. The victim called 911.
