EMANUEL CO., GA (WTOC) -

A funeral will be held Tuesday for a police officer killed in a chase.

Emanuel County Officer Dillon Gay was off-duty when deputies and troopers say he lead them on a high-speed chase Friday night. It happened in Jenkins County on Georgia Highway 23 south of Millen. Troopers used the pit maneuver to stop Gay, who was ejected from his vehicle.

Gay's body was sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime lab for an autopsy. Routine drug and alcohol tests will be performed, but the results could take four to six weeks.

The crash remains under investigation by Georgia State Patrol.
