The Beaufort Co. Board of Education in a meeting Tuesday night unanimously approved building a new K-8 school on the Davis Road property. The board hasn't voted on building the combined middle and high school yet.
A vote is expected Tuesday on proposals to deal with school overcrowding in Beaufort County.
Beaufort County Superintendent Jeffery Moss had originally proposed building two new schools in Bluffton. One school would be a K-8 and the other would combine middle and high school. Moss also suggested building an additional wing on Bluffton High School to accommodate more students.
Another option would be to build new elementary and middle schools.
