36 year old Leslie Ballard has been found guilty of felony murder, aggravated assault, and four counts of cruelty to children in the third degree.
The Dougherty County jury deliberated about five hours before returning the verdict this afternoon.
Prosecutors say Ballard stabbed Anthony Hartsfield on June 11, 2011 at their home on Cherry Avenue, while their children watched.
Those children testified during the week long murder trial. Ballard contended that Hartsfield had abused her while they lived together.
Prosecutors say there was no abuse that day when she stabbed him in the chest, killing him.
Judge Willie Lockette will sentence Ballard Monday.
