Suspects sought in robbery, shooting in Sunset Park

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Violent Crimes detectives with the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Dept. are investigating a shooting and robbery of a Savannah man the Sunset Park neighborhood.

Police said two suspects, one armed with a handgun, went up to Robert Ward, 26, while he was in the driveway of his home in the 1300 block of East 57th Street. He told Island Precinct officers that he ran into the home and the gunman fired and followed him into the home and robbed him at about 12:02 p.m.

Ward refused emergency medical treatment.

The suspects were described as black males who are about 5'8" to 5'10" and were wearing jeans. One suspect was a black shirt and the other was wearing a white shirt. The gunman in the white shirt had a very short afro hairstyle.
