Trial resumes for runaway murder suspect

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The trial for a man accused of murdering another man in east Toledo during a robbery will resume Thursday.

Toledo Police say Jonathon Johnson, 23, killed Jonathon Morris in October 2012. He is also charged with burglary.

Johnson was on the run until June, when police caught him hiding in a dog house. He is being held on more than $1 million cash bond.

The Department of Natural Resources is also stressing safety throughout the weekend.  Officers say that they'll be cracking down on the usual charges, such as those not wearing seatbelts, or drinking and driving.
