Eligible voters have until the close of business on Monday, Oct. 7 to register to vote in order to take part in the Nov. 5 General, from a statement from Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp's office.
Voters that are currently registered are reminded to utilize the Secretary of State's My Voter Page voter education website to request an absentee ballot application, find the early voting locations and times in their county and more.
The MVP website can be accessed at sos.ga.gov/mvp.
For Georgians yet to register, there are several convenient methods of registering:
-Download, complete and mail a voter registration application from http://sos.georgia.gov/elections/how_to_register.htm
- Contact your local county board of registrar's office or election office, public library, public assistance office, recruitment office, schools and other government offices for a mail-in registration form. A list can be found at http://sos.georgia.gov/cgi-bin/countyregistrarsindex.asp
- Registration is offered when you renew or apply for your driver's license at the Department of Driver Services.
- College students can obtain Georgia voter registration forms or the necessary forms to register in any state in the U.S. from their school's registrar's office or from the office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
