The Coastal Empire Council of the Boy Scouts is sponsoring Over the Edge on Dec. 13 at the Manager Building, one of Savannah's tallest buildings.
Community leaders who raised at least a thousand dollars for the cause climbed to the top of the building to get a sense of what it will be like to rappel down the side in just a little over two months.
"They're all going over the edge with me," says Tom Carter, chairman. "Myself included, we've got Santa Claus, which is great. We're going to have some other celebrities. We have a priest with us. The majority of the money is going to go towards the Inner City Scout Reach Program which helps at risk youth. As most of you know, Boy Scouts is a great organization to help develop young men into good citizens, members of the community and good leaders."
