Home featured in "Steel Magnolias" to be auctioned

The Natchitoches "Cook-Taylor House", made famous in the film "Steel Magnolias", will be auctioned on Saturday, October 26th.

The house was built in 1840 by Italian architects and was purchased as a business. During the civil war, the home was used a hospital. It is rumored to have played a part in the underground railroad. The house features circular brick columns, original wood floors and a grand staircase. Bonnette Auctions will host the auction on October 26th at 10 a.m. at the home located at 320 Jefferson Street in Natchitoches.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. The auction will also feature antiques, furnishings, movie memorabilia and other items.
