Man wanted in Virginia arrested in Statesboro

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office arrested a Virginia man at a Statesboro mobile home park after getting a tip that he was wanted in Virginia Beach, VA.

BCSO deputies received the tip on Oct. 4 that Weylon Wallace, 36, was living in a mobile home in Newton's mobile home park off of Kyle Sorrell Road.

Wallace and a female at were at the mobile home. He provided deputies with false information in an attempt to hide his identity and the warrants out on him in Virginia, according to the BCSO.

The female was identified as a 16 year old from Virginia Beach who has been a runaway since 2012. They both were taken into custody.

The teen was detained at the Claxton Regional Youth Detention Center pending return to Virginia. More charges are possible against Wallace in connection with harboring the teen.

Wallace is being held without bond at the Bulloch County Jail on charges of giving false information to law enforcement, obstruction and contributing to the delinquency of a minor along with his warrants from Virginia.
