Many are sounding off about the government shutdown, and in the Lowcountry, U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford is holding town hall meetings on Monday.
With all the competing ideas on what to do next, Sanford expects the shutdown to overlap with discussion concerning the debt ceiling. The longest government shutdown lasted 21 days ending early 1996. Some are willing to wait it out again.
Sanford spoke at Aunt Chiladas Easy Street Cafe at noon Monday.
He said he is upset the Lincoln Memorial is closed because to the shutdown. Many said they're upset with Sanford and the rest of Congress over the shutdown.
