PARRIS ISLAND (WTOC) -

Most of Parris Island's civilian government employees who were placed on furlough last week are being recalled to work Monday based on new guidance from the Department of Defense.

All previously closed facilities and services will reopen no later than Tuesday, according to a news release from the Marine Corps Public Affairs Office.

One of the 291 civilian workers affected by the government shutdown, will remain furloughed due to stipulations in the Pay Our Military Act, according to the news release.
