CCSO's Operation New Hope to receive 6 new dogs

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Chatham County Sheriff's Office Operation New Hope program will receive six new dogs Tuesday.

Four of the six are special needs dogs. Three of them are from the second largest dog fighting ring in United States history, coming from a secret location somewhere in the southern United States.

"Operation New Hope" is a partnership between the Chatham County Sheriff's Office and the Humane Society for Greater Savannah to give unadoptable dogs in our community a second chance and help rehabilitate inmates in the Chatham County jail. It allows low-risk inmates to train the dogs, teaching them basic commands and behavioral skills to help them find permanent homes.
