SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A citizen's help led to the arrest of two suspects in connection with a rolling, county-wide surveillance operation Oct. 9.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police arrested Dominick Bernard Coney, 17, and Orinthus Lenard Harding, 18.

Coney was charged with burglary, possession of a drug related object and possession of marijuana after patrol and undercover officers from SCMPD, Georgia State patrol, and Metro police's Eagle 1 helicopter followed his car from Abercorn Street to a subdivision off Quacco Road.

Harding was also charged with possession of marijuana.

Island Precinct officers responded to a call to the 1400 block of Dale Drive on Oct. 8 when a witness saw a male flee a residence and run to a vehicle. Officers found a broken window at the scene.

On Oct. 9, the witness called back after spotting the same vehicle on Abercorn Street. Officers responded to the call and followed the suspects to the Hampton Place subdivision, where the occupants were arrested and charged. Bernard was identified as the subject in the burglary.
